Fred Has The Goods
Pete Prisco is a writer for CBS Sportsline, and he also does a local radio show in Jacksonville, Florida. He’s been one of Fred Taylor’s biggest media supporters throughout Fred’s entire career. Pete only has positive things to say about Fred and always gets exclusive interviews with him on the radio.
The other day, Pete posted an article on Sportsline titled “Numbers don’t lie, Taylor has HOF goods”. It’s a great piece that dives into Fred Taylor’s chances of reaching the Hall of Fame. Because Pete is such a big Freddy fan, you’d think it was filled with just one man’s opinion, but the article is actually backed with stats and facts.
Here’s an excerpt:
Sitting on a bench outside Jacksonville Municipal Stadium last week, the sweat from a morning practice still rolling down his forehead, Fred Taylor stared at me with a puzzled look. My question stumped him for a second, just as it had the many others who tried to answer it.
How many of the NFL’s all-time, top 20 rushers, a club in which Taylor has a membership card, have both a better yards-per-carry and per-game rushing average than Taylor?
“Barry?” Taylor answered. He paused. “And Jim Brown?”
I’m not going to spoil the answer for you. So go read it for yourself.
